Aircraft Landing Gear

The first landing gears were manufactured in the late 1930s to be installed on aircraft of the time. Today JSC Hydromash named after V.I. Luzyanin landing gears and hydraulic units are used on the best Russian aircraft and helicopters.

Aircraft actuators and units

JSC Hydromash named after V.I. Luzyanin develops, manufactures, tests and maintains a wide range of hydraulic and pneumatic units intended to be installed on airсraft and helicopters.

Hydraulic / pneumatic actuators for the following systems with operating pressures up to 35 MPa (350 kgf/cm2):

  • aircraft and helicopter landing gear retraction and extraction
  • aircraft alighting mechanization
  • aircraft flight control
  • aircraft compartment flap door opening and closing systems
  • retraction and extraction of other aircraft elements

Actuator design options:

  • Without locks
  • Without locks, with an arresting device at the end of the rod stroke (with anti-overload valves if necessary)
  • With an in-built mechanical lock in the retracted and/or extracted rod position
  • With an in-built mechanical lock and a drive to install a mechanism for signalizing the locked position
  • With an in-built mechanical lock and an installed mechanism for signalizing the locked position

  • Actuator fixtures to mount actuators on aircraft can either be equipped with ball bearings, which can be self-lubricated, or they can be made in the form of cardan joints, which can have operating fluid pipelines installed

Hydraulic units:

  • Distributing and damping units. Mechanically driven slide-valve hydraulic units with feedback couplings for operating fluid distribution in operating cavities of steering gear power actuators in control mode and for creating hydraulic resistance when operating fluid flows from one actuator cavity to another in damping mode.
  • Hydraulic shimmy dampers. Intended to prevent NLG shimmy vibrations.

Components for civil machinery for various applications

Apart from aviation equipment JSC Hydromash named after V.I. Luzyanin designs and manufactures hydraulic cylinders. track tension cylinders, pivot pins, bolts, axles, flanges, damping sleeves, as well as other components used in various earthmoving and construction machinery, mining machinery (excavators, loaders, bulldozers, tractors), agricultural machinery, mixed navigation vessels and other specialized equipment of premium market segment operating in a wide range of climatic conditions all over the world.

The work is carried out taking into account current market trends and individual needs of the customer.

  • Product design and preproduction are carried out with CAD/CAM systems allowing to reduce production time significantly.
  • Software products based on ProEngineer and Compass are used for designing.
  • 3D models created in ProE are easily integrated into other CAD/CAM systems with the use of universal STEP or IGS translators.
  • CNC program development is carried out with the use of CAM systems such as TEBIS, ProEngineer and Gemma-3D.

For manufacturing of our products we use modern technologies and material grades 41Cr4, 42CrMo4, 34CrNiMo6, S355J and others.

Our in-house press forging facility with die tooling production allows us to continuously develop and master new designs and optimize production cycles.

The manufacture of the components is a closed-loop production cycle and includes:

  • induction hardening

  • electroplating
  • non-destructive testing
  • assembly
  • testing on specialized test benches.

Hydraulic cylinders

Various damping options used in hydraulic cylinder designs allow us to eliminate overloading of equipment elements, while modern high-quality and durable seals made of polyester thermoplastics and composite materials from leading Russian and world manufacturers. Robotic welding in shielding gas environment and electron-beam welding in vacuum with subsequent non-destructive testing ensure high quality level of welded joints.

Pivot pins / bolts

Specialized production includes an area for hardening by high frequency currents with hardening depth from 2 to 8 mm and hardness up to 60HRC, an area for chemical phosphatizing and hard chrome plating, an area for zinc-plating and painting with various types of enamels.

Production of parts such as blocks, axles, flanges, bearing supports, trunnion pins is carried out on modern high-precision equipment with the use of advanced cutting tools and processing methods.
